My Favorite Books on Meditation

Going On Being by Mark Epstein, M. D.
Psychiatrist in private practice, New York

Going To Pieces Without Falling Apart by Mark Epstein, M.D.

Both books provide insight into meditation and psychotherapy from a Buddhist perspective, but within the framework of a Western understanding of the self.  One does not need to be a Buddhist to gain insights into the Buddhist philosophy of living in the moment.  Dr. Epstein “encourages us to relax the ever-vigilant mind in order to experience the freedom that comes only from relinquishing control.”  We can all profit from learning to find joy in each and every moment.

Be Here Now by Ram Dass
Teaching how to find peace within ourselves, to be fully present in our lives.
