This technique comes highly recommended to me by my massage therapist (she does not do this technique herself), but she has experienced the technique as an adjunct treatment for back pain that she was experiencing. You don’t have to believe in the healing powers of essential oils to recognize the relaxing effects of the aromas, the soothing touch, and the calming surroundings.
